Sherlock's Muses

Description

When I visited London this past summer, I took a trip to the real 221B Baker Street, where I got to explore the interior of the Sherlock Holmes Museum. I snapped pictures left and right, and I was able to capture one of Sherlock Holmes's desk.

My AP Art concentration is centralized around the concept of the muse, so I wanted to capture some of the items that might represent the experiences, items, etc. that helped inspire the fictional detective and that helped him develop his incredible intelligence and his powers of deduction.

The Muse head, specifically a bust of Thalia (the muse of comedy and idyllic poetry), was added in and was not originally on the desk. I'd like to think that Sherlock somehow acquired the bust when he was solving the mystery of the Greek Interpreter. :)

Oh my! I like your idea of pursuing art about the idea of the muse. This is a great example.
